Beauty Rocks Reviews: CACI Treatment at Mandara Spa

The Mandara Spa is a true sanctuary in the heart of London, that’s what I thought when I visited it a couple of weeks ago. It’s a relaxing space in the heart of London (located in the Park Plaza Hotel Westminster) where you can simply let go for an afternoon. I felt almost transported to Bali when I arrived and there is an instant soothing vibe when you enter the spa. Whether you receive a treatment (CACI, massage or facial) or just go there to experience the relaxing ambience of the pool, sauna or steam room you will most certainly walk away feeling refreshed and revived. If you are looking for spas in London, or Balinese spas in London to be exact, this is the place for you.

I visited the Mandara Spa to experience a CACI Advanced Lift Facial which is like a mini-face lift. CACI (Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument) is a microcurrent system, originally discovered by doctors trying to help stroke patients recover the movement in their face. CACI is well-loved by celebrities and is known for being a non-surgical face-lift option for many. How does it work? With a ‘unique combination of specific waveforms and ultra-low frequencies that work in harmony with the body’s own bio-electrical field. It transmits tiny electrical impulses and signals that have been documented to stimulate muscle tone and enhance skin tissue.’

Basically the therapist takes two prongs (from which the microcurrent emanates from) and manipulates the muscles on your face to retrain them to lift. Basically you are shocking them back into place but it really isn’t as bad as it sounds! I felt really comfortable during the CACI treatment and found it quite relaxing.

However, not everyone finds it relaxing because this is about delivering small microcurrents (i.e. electrical currents) into the skin combined with a very deep and manipulative facial massage. There are a lot of upward movements and these are quite deep, which I prefer. These movements lift the facial muscles, which tend to slacken with gravity. It’s almost like a work-out for the face – it lifts and can help sculpt the muscles. Some people may find CACI slightly uncomfortable but beauty is sometimes pain. However, this was not my experience at all – I rather enjoyed it!

If you are wanting a facial anyways, you might as well get CACI as it actually does lift your entire face and perks it up. However, this effect won’t last forever if you do one treatment (maybe 2 days?) so it’s better to do a course of treatments so you can benefit from the long-term effects. Five to ten treatments are recommended.

Think of this like exercise. You may see improved skin tone and feel perkier after one exercise session but you really need to do it long term to get the full, long-term benefits. It’s the same with CACI. You will however see immediate results so if you are planning to do one CACI treatment, do it before a big event – party, wedding, etc. so that you look amazing!

Not only can you get the CACI Face Lift Treatment at Mandara Spa but you can also get the CACI Lift & Sculpt on your body. The treatment uses Electro Cellulite Massage to help firm and sculpt body muscles that have lost shape and definition in areas such as bust, stomach, legs and buttocks. This is an amazing treatment if you are planning to go on a beach holiday because it offers immediate results such as skin tightening, skin rejuvenation and body contouring.

In the CACI body treatment, the therapist uses soothing conductive rollers designed to pivot to the body contours of each individual, while the microcurrents released by the rollers help to break down fatty deposits, tone muscles and tighten targeted areas. The treatment also stimulates circulation, helping to flush away toxins and resulting in a smoother and tighter appearance. This would be a great treatment to kick-start a diet.

If you get a treatment at Mandara Spa you can also use the facilities such as the pool, sauna or steam room. It’s the best way I know to relax and feel truly refreshed!

There is also a relaxing area where you can sip on flavoured waters, have some detox tea or read a magazine. It’s quiet and relaxing – a real treat for frazzled minds!
