The festive season is nearly upon us! I can almost hear the Christmas Spotify playlist, taste the mulled wine and see the gifts under the tree. And because of the recent cold snap with the British weather, we are definitely headed towards winter. The only problem with winter is what it does to my skin. I mean, I think my skin actually hates winter. My legs get really dry, my skin feels tight – and don’t even ask about my hands – they look like they actually shrivel up in single digit weather (cue the gloves and winter skincare )!
We often forget about the skin on our body when in fact it needs a very similar level of care as the skin on our face, especially during the colder months. I can tell you I religiously cleanse, apply serum and moisturiser two times a day as well as use a couple of masks a week on my face. I also exfoliate and tone. Imagine if I treated my body skin the same way as I do my skin? Needless to say my winter skincare regime has been a bit neglected lately (bye bye summer glow) which is why I was absolutely thrilled when the new Sanctuary Spa Rose Gold Radiance range landed on my beauty desk. These products feel incredibly indulgent and luxe and leave your skin with a fabulous glow as well – just what I need for a skin pick-me-up in the winter.
So, what’s going to get your skin glowing? Well first off it’s always good to start with a hot bath and that’s where the journey with the Sanctuary Spa Rose Gold Radiance range begins. I love a hot bath not only for the relaxation benefits that it brings but also the skin benefits. A hot bath really revs up the circulation so it’s no surprise that skin looks really glowing afterwards.
And with a bath, I love adding the Sanctuary Spa Exquisite Bath Salts from the Rose Gold Radiance range into my bath-time routine. They are as they say on the tin, indeed EXQUISITE. As soon as you open the lid, you can smell the most incredible and luxurious scent of rose oils. The salts are infused with illuminating pearl and soothing wheat germ oil and using them in the bath creates a shimmering tub full of pure magic that leaves you looking glowing as soon as you step out. These are also mineral salts as well, so they do have relaxation benefits to them as well. Just sprinkle a handful into the bath under running water and then relax away. These bath salts would make an amazing Christmas present as well for an overworked friend or family member. I’m thinking my younger sister would really like this!
You can also choose to use the Sanctuary Spa Liquid Gold Bath Elixir which is a bit like pouring liquid gold into the water, it’s that good. And the scent, oh the scent – is incredible. This is essentially rose gold bubble bath so you can create the most amazing shimmering bubbles with this product. It’s also got a brightening blend of vitamins and rose flower water (that’s why it smells so incredible) and just to sink into those bubbles feels super indulgent. Because we all need a moment sometimes, don’t we? Again, this would make a perfect Secret Santa gift or stocking filler for the holidays.
Another thing we have to think about this time of year is party prep. I’ve mentioned how dry and dull my skin gets in the winter so moisturising is key to bring the glow back. And it doesn’t hurt to have a little extra shimmer thrown in for good measure (and for the extra glow factor). I am absolutely loving the Sanctuary Spa Shimmer Luxe Body Butter for this very thing. First of all, it feels and smells amazing, like a fine fragrance.
Next off, it sinks in really quickly with no greasy residue after. And lastly, it leaves a GORGEOUS sheen to the skin with a very subtle shimmer. I’m planning to make this my go-to both in the winter and in the summer for the glow factor and this would be perfect massaged into the décolletage before putting on a strappy dress for a Christmas party. It’s a stunning dry body oil that’s infused with diamond dust and rose quartz and leaves behind a serious GLOW. I love that it’s a dry body oil so again, no greasy feeling left behind after applying.
